Tonight!

Here's some info on upcoming shows tonight and later in January!

MP3's are coming soon.

December Slam: Jill Binder edition

7:00 PM Thursday, December 14th at the Thirsty Scholar - 126.5 York St in the market

Jill Binder whispers, sings, screams, and feels her words. She's been published in a number of places including 2 self-published chapbooks: "Broken Feathers" (launched and sold out in 2001) and her upcoming book, "The Morbid Book of Haiku." Her real love though is performing her poetry on stages, which she's been doing since 2000 shortly after leaving Ottawa where she grew up. She's read all over Canada and the U.S., dabbled a little on stages in Bermuda and the U.K., and only recently read once in Ottawa to break her run of reading everywhere but her hometown. She is extremely excited to be featuring in Ottawa where she can show her hometown folks what she can do, and this will be a very special show for her emotionally. Her other love is running shows and poetry series, most notably of which was "WordPlay: Poetry/Music Fusion Playtime" for over a year. Check her out at http://jillbinder.com and http://jillbinder.coffeehouse.ca

Come check her out! Also, if you are a poet or want to start performing your work come out and get into the event for free! This is how we encourage creativity. The sign up for the open mic and the slam begins at 7pm. Come early to get on the list! The show starts at 8pm.

This is an all ages event. We can't wait to hear what you've got.
